On the 27 of January 2020, it was reported by Tribune that the Adamawa State government has started paying 26,000 students bursary.
The report says that the government under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri started paying 26,000 students of tertiary institutions who are indigenes of the State.
The National President of Adamawa State Students (NUADSS), Comrade Gaddafi Hussaini acknowledged this fact in Yola, the State capital when he stated the Union has been moving for the such in the past seven years, only to start receiving it in the present administration of the state.
The Union leader pointed out that the university students will be receiving the amount of N15, 000 annually while their counterparts in the polytechnics would receive N7,500 each annually.
From the report, students who had not received their own bursary were urged to be patient as they would receive it in due course.
OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ADAMAWA STATE STUDENTS
Aside the scholarship offered by Agip oil, the company also makes provision for the rest of Nigerians who wish to study under scholarship.
Agip scholarship has both undergraduate and post graduate scholarship. The Agip undergraduate scholarship however, is only for 100 level students studying in one of the public universities in Nigeria
