The application for the scholarship is done online. Interested candidates are asked to forward their application letter and documents to the official email address of the board: support@bssb.gov.com.ng


  • JAMB and School Admission letters
  • Your Local Government Area Certificate of Origin
  • Your O’ Level certificate. It could be NECO, WAEC, NABTEB, or GCE.


  1. These documents must be scanned and in JPEG format, not more than 500kb before they will be uploaded.
  2. You must submit your bank account statement for a considerable period of time (6 months to 1 year will do).
  3. The name on the Bank account statement must align with the name used in application and on every other document.


To be worthy of this scholarship programme, yo u must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be indigenes of Bayelsa State.
  • Interested applicants must be full-time students in any of the Bayelsa State or Federal tertiary institutions.
  • Candidates must also have at least 5 credits in the O’ Level certificate, for which English Language and Mathematics are included.
  • The candidates must prove that they are indigent and are worthy of external financial help.


In the bid to produce graduates and human resources, who will contribute immensely to the growth of the State’s economy and the country at large, the Bayelsa State Government has made bursary and scholarship provisions for students from the State.

This scholarship programme promises to sponsor students through their tertiary education. So, students in universities, polytechnics, Monotechnic, and colleges of education are invited to make their application for this scholarship opportunity.


From the results of our own research, we are not sure that the Bayelsa State Government Scholarship is still on.

Therefore we urge you to be careful with any scholarship application you make on any third-party website (one which is not the official government website); it could be fraud.
