HOW TO APPLY FOR BORNO STATE SCHOLARSHIP
The application for the Borno State scholarship/bursary is not carried out via the Scholarship Board portal.

In order to stand a chance of winning the State Bursary:
- Interested applicants must be an indigene of the State
- You must also be a full-time student of any public tertiary institution in the State or around the country.
- You should also have at least 5 credits in your O’ Level, which should include English, Mathematics, and 3 other subjects relevant in your field of study.
- You must be ready to present the necessary documents as proposed by the Scholarship and Bursary Board.
Ensure you submit your application with the following documents:
- Your Local Government Area or State Certificate of Origin
- Your JAMB and School Admission Letters
- An official School ID card
- A recent passport photograph of you
- And other necessary documents (if any).
According to a report by Vanguard on the 10gh of March 2020, the Borno State government under the leadership of Prof. Babagan Zulum has approved N57 million for the payment of the student bursary.
The Commissioner for Higher Education in the State, Isa Hussain said over 23, 776 students in Nigeria, including 118 international students have benefitted from the bursary payment.
From here, we can draw that the State government is still poised to drive quality education in the State, although the fully sponsored scholarship has not seen the light for years.
