Aside from having the right O’Level grades, what will determine whether you will be in the tertiary institution in the next academic session is your JAMB and post-UTME score.
If the aggregate of these two marks is lower than the standard, then you will have no chance.
That is why in this post, we have clearly discussed the JAMB and departmental cut-off marks of Bayelsa State College of Arts and Science (BYCAS), to help know what mark you need to gain admission.

BYCAS Polytechnic JAMB cut-off mark
JAMB has officially approved 120 to be the official cut-off for every polytechnic in Nigeria including BYCAS.
However, this means that if you must gain admission in this institution, then you must score a minimum of 120 in UTME.
Nevertheless, candidates who are not able to cross this threshold should not lose hope on admission. Such candidates can buy JAMB change of course/institution form and apply for a diploma, or part-time course.
With the same form, you also have the chance to switch to a private polytechnic or a college of education. But if none of these meets your target, then you must get ready to re-apply JAMB and learn better ways on how to pass JAMB.
Departmental cut-off mark
While having a minimum of 120 in JAMB will keep you in the race for admission, it might not be enough to get you into your desired department.
The admission process seems to pay more attention to departmental cut-off marks.
Thus, here is a rough summary of the cut-off marks of courses offered in Bayelsa State College of Arts and Science.
