To advance learning and establish academic excellence in the State, the Lagos State government established LASU in 1983. Presently, the school enrolls about 35,000 full-time students.

The University’s main campus is at Ojo. The second is located at Epe.

As a public tertiary institution, LASU admits candidates from every background. Nevertheless, applicants for admission must follow their admission procedure, score their JAMB cut-off mark, and have the needed O’Level grades.
