HISTORY

Unfortunately, the Edo State Government does not have any scholarships scheme for her students. But be that as it may, you may want to explore alternative options like the scholarship offered by the State-owned Edo University, Iyamho.

EDO UNIVERSITY IYAMHO SCHOLARSHIP

The Edo University Iyamho is offering scholarships to undergraduate and indigent students. These scholarship programmes are meant to fully sponsor its beneficiaries through their undergraduate studies at the University.

These scholarships are only awarded to students who have scored a minimum of 260 in the JAMB/UTME examination.

The Undergraduate Full Scholarship Award

This scholarship will be for the duration of the programme of the candidates. Nonetheless, this scholarship shall be for the maximum of five (5) candidates, and it is only for students who have demonstrated a high level of academic excellence.

Indigent Students Scholarship Award

This category of the scholarship will be for the duration of the choice programme of the candidates. Unlike the previous, this only covers tuition fees.

The Indigent Students Scholarship Award is part of Edo University Iyamho Corporate Social Responsibility, in granting easier access to quality education to Nigerians.


REQUIREMENTS/ELIGIBILITY

  • Only students from Edo State are eligible to apply for the Indigent Scholarship Award, while students from other students can apply for the Undergraduate Scholarship.
  • Interested applicants must have chosen the Edo University Iyamho or any other NUC approved tertiary institution in the country, during their JAMB registration.
  • Applicants for the Undergraduate Scholarship Award must score a minimum of 260 in their JAMB UTME, while those for the Indigent Scholarship must score from 200 and above.
  • Every candidate must meet the admission requirements for his/her chosen choice of course of study.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong excellence in spoken and written English Language.
  • Applicants for the Indigent Scholarship must show a proof of their indigency to qualify for the award.

NOTE: You will be assessed with a Computer Based Test, to further streamline and select the qualified candidates.

The application for this scholarship is carried out via the Scholarship website. Follow these steps to apply:

  • Visit https://www.edouniversity.edu.ng/scholarship
  • Choose which of the scholarships you wish to apply
  • Enter your JAMB registration number
  • Enter your JAMB score
  • Choose your State of Origin and then, your Local Government Area.
  • Click the ‘Continue’ button to fill the following scholarship form. Be ready to fill your primary and secondary school details.
