Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic, Geidam is public tertiary institution owned and funded by the Yobe State government. The main campus is located in a town Gaidem in Yobe State.
The origin of the institution can be traced back to 1993, but the school actually kicked off between 2002 and 2003.
The State polytechnic offer courses that cut across engineering, science management and arts. And as a polytechnic, these courses lead to the award of OND and HND certificates.
Mai-Idris Alooma Polytechnic also run Ordinary Diploma and PRE-ND programmes in different courses.
Students of this school pay about N40,000 as school fees, and they accept application from every candidate despite their background.
