The Yusuf Maitama Sule University, formerly known as Northwestern University Kano.

It was established in 2012 by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State.

Yes, the University accepts candidates who chose them as their second choice of institution during their UTME registration.

What are the University’s admission requirements?

To gain admission into NWU, you must have the following requirements:

  • 5 credits in O’Level of which English, Mathematics, and 3 other subjects relevant in your field are included.
  • Score up to the School’s cut-off marks.
  • You mustn’t be less than 16 years.
  • You must have documents to prove your claims: LGA certificate of origin, birth certificate, JAMB result slip, original O’Level certificate, and so on.

How can I apply for NWU screening?

  • Visit nwu.edu.ng and click on the “2019 Application Portal”
  • Input your JAMB registration number and click the “Submit” button.
  • Generate the payment invoice. Proceed to any bank around Nigeria to make a payment of N2000, which is the cost of screening form.
  • Return to this page. Login with your UTME details to print the acknowledgement slip.

NOTE: You will be required to present the slip at the screening venue.
